| CP-86 | INCIRLIK AİRBASE RESTORATION OF PROTECTED AIRCRAFT SHELTERS (100% DESIGN & ON-SITE QA) | TURKEY | MOD NATO Department / ERYAP Inc. | 2010 |
Brief description of project and relevance to the contract :
(100% A&E design & On-Site QA services)
1- DOOR MODIFICATION
Existing 1st Generation Shelters consists of a wide-span compound radius arch shell which is built-up of concrete and double corrugated steel liners In all 16 of the aircraft shelters the door hinge systems are malfunction therefore they will be replaced by new generation aircraft shelters doors (3rd generation door).
2. WATER PROOFING MODIFICATION
Semi cylindrical shaped concrete shelters exhibit severe cracks, segregated honey combed surfaces and local spalls. It is proposed that such defects are effectively repaired prior to water proofing. Waterproofing of aircraft shelters will be made after cleaning and repairing of the external concrete surfaces.
3 VENTILATION SYSTEM MODIFICATION : Existing aircraft shelter is equipped with a forced ventilation system to prevent the accumulation of jet fuel vapor inside the shelter. Existing system is very old needs to be replaced.
4 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM MODIFICATION : the existing power systems in the shelters do not comply with the latest EN & USAFE standards for potentially explosive areas, such as facilities housing fuel and ammunition, both of which are simultaneously present in the protected aircraft shelters. The existing outlets and distribution panel board will be replaced with ex-proof equipment.
