Brief description of project and relevance to the contract:
(100% A&E design services)
Project covers site surveys, topo surveys, pavement design, drainage design and airfield lighting design services, preparation of technical specifications in UFGS format, design analysis and bill of quantities. Scope of project is as follows:
Parallel Taxiway K : is designed between existing Taxiway A and Taxiway C as a rigid pavement with Portland Cement Concrete (PCC). North and South taxiway extensions and associated Arm/Disarm Pads are designed as asphalt pavements with unpaved shoulders. Scope also covers airfield markings, signage, edge lighting and drainage.
Hot Cargo Pad and Connecting Taxiway : is designed as a rigid pavement with Portland Cement Concrete (PCC). Connection Taxiway J to the Hot Cargo Pad is concrete paved with asphalt paved shoulders. Design also covers airfield markings, signage, edge lighting and drainage.
Restoration of Taxiway A : includes demolishing and reconstruction of Taxiway A from the East of the new Taxiway to the East side of the existing Runway. Taxiway is planned as a flexible pavement together with airfield markings and signage.
Hot Cargo Pad : is designed for the loading and unloading of the explosives and other hazardous cargo from the aircraft.
Electrical Works-Airfield Lighting : Airfield Lighting for the new Taxiway and Aprons is designed in accordance with UFC 3-535-01, Visual Air Navigation Facilities and UFC 3-535-02.
